The Chesapeake Mill, Wickham

It was really nice this week to get back to our usual Saturday jaunts for breakfast.  The last two weeks Jan has been busy sticking needles into hundreds of people with flue jabs. I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms, a couple of Weetabix are not the same somehow.

Anyway we decided to go to The Chesapeake Mill at Wickham and very nice it was too.

It is a very old building, constructed in 1820 with lots of history, well worth a read if you follow the link. The Mill doesn't open until 10am so we went for a bit of a wander round the village while we waited.  There is a car park in front.  It is a real Aladdin's cave to look around, all sorts of furnishings, antiques, jewellery, cards and gifts.  There is a very nice cafe at the back of the building where you can enjoy lovely home cooked food. We chose the full English which was delicious and arrived very hot and well displayed.

Our breakfast was £7.50, altogether for the two of us we paid £20 including coffee. Not the cheapest but for quality it was well worth it.

All the tables are nicely laid out with tablecloths and a flower.

We sat by a window which had a little balcony with a toadstool table and chairs and a nice view over the garden

They also serve lunches and a nice selection of cakes.

After breakfast we went up to Mudd Island, one of our favourite garden centres, just to look round.

As usual we picked up the dogs and did a walk to walk off some of the calories.  We did the Riding Stable walk at Chilling

Nice walk, bit less than two miles and today's weather was perfect for walking. A few pictures.

Jessie in disgrace and had to have a wash in a puddle before Auntie Jan would allow her in the car

That is all for this week,  byee...
