This weekend we were planning to do a brekkie venue with outside eating so we could have taken the dogs. But, Saturday morning didn't look that bright so we headed off to Southsea to try Jags at 119. It is called that because it is at 119 Elm Grove in Southsea. It is an American Diner and it looks lovely inside.
They have a very extensive menu, open all day from 9am, entertainment some evenings and many challenges. How many pancakes could you eat in 30 minutes?
We both chose the 4 pancake stack with warmed syrup. I chose to have the blackcurrant coulis topping and Jan chose bacon.
They both looked absolutely delicious when they came all freshly prepared for us.
And, they tasted every bit as good as they looked. The pancakes were thick and light and fluffy and they were very generous with the syrup and toppings. Four pancakes were quite a lot to eat but we almost cleared our plates although I think Jan took a bit of bacon home for her dogs. Jessie dipped out this week as I didn't think the coulis would be a good choice for a dog.
Would really recommend this diner 100%. Nice surroundings, lovely food and very friendly staff. Can't wait to go again.
The prices were very good value, pancake stack with syrup £4.50.
You then add 50p for the coulis or £1 for the bacon. Coffee was extra but they do come and top your cup up.
The link above is to their Facebook page and has details of challenges and entertainment.
BEFORE |
Jessie is getting used to being the only dog now, quite clingy. Don't know if she is trying to be protective or not but I don't think she would be very good at it.
She had a visit from the groomer this week so here she is showing off her new haircut.
AFTER |
Personally I prefer the before but she has to have it cut sometimes.
Enjoying some time with Mitzi |
That is about it for now, see you next week
