Sorry we have been off the radar for a couple of weeks but sometimes duties get in the way. Jan had to do couple of weeks doing flu clinics and then Jan and her friend Heidi did the Run or Dye 5 km run. Can't understand why she thought this was more fun than having brekkie with me.
Last Saturday we went to Botley to Elsie's Tearoom. We were following up a recommendation and it was very nice. Quite different, old fashioned and very pretty. Elsie's only opened in August to give local people somewhere different to eat and drink.
Elsie's is just after going through Botley from the Mill end and on the left hand side. There is a car park just past on the same side of the road. You would need to be looking out for it. They had a very nice menu which was healthier than our usual Saturday brekkies.
Scrambled eggs for Jan and cheese on toast with home made chutney for me.
Very tasty
Each cost £4.20, coffee extra.
If you do still feel hungry after that, they do sell lovely cakes as well.
We managed to walk off some calories later. We took Peggy and Jessie for a walk round a local farm. Jan likes to visit the horses. Me, I keep my distance because I'm a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to horses.
Bit of a bad hair day I would say!
Me busy trying to keep Jessie safely on her lead away from those big feet but as soon as I think we are at a safe distance she shoots off back to say hello. Didn't get trampled though.
Wobbly Polly had to stay home though. We do get her out on short walks but that one would have been too much for her.
This Saturday Jan needed to make a visit down to Poole so we combined it with a brekkie trip. We just picked something off the Internet. We went to the Bay Tree Cafe in Poole. We had a very nice breakfast. We both went for the Eggs Benedict with bacon which was very tasty. We are doing very well lately, ages since we had a fat laden full English. Our arteries must be pleased. I think we will be getting withdrawal symptoms very soon.
That is about all for this week, more soon....................Margaret x
