Frankie & Benny's at Whiteley

This week, I have been asked to do a guest blog for Out for Brekkie. And never let it be said that I turn down the chance to go out for breakfast!

First let me introduce myself, my name is Joanne. I am Margaret's (one of the lovely Out for Brekkie ladies) daughter. I am the sole proprietor of Frocks2Socks, join me at +Frocks2Socks  on Google+.

Now, lets get down to my review.

We have a lovely new shopping center just opened at Whiteley, with lots of nice shops and places to eat. When I was asked to join Margaret and Jan for their Saturday morning breakfast, this seemed the ideal place to try out.
We arrived early, shortly after 9am and it was already filling up, we were shown to our table and given menus. All of the breakfasts were the same price £5.
Tea & coffee are unlimited for £1.50 per person.
With so much choice, it was surprising that we all wanted the same thing - Triple stack pancakes!

Before the syrup!

After the syrup!

This consisted of 3 butter-milk pancakes, 3 fried eggs and 3 rashers of bacon. We also asked for some syrup which was supplied in a little pot for each of us at no extra charge.
I had tea, and Margaret & Jan had coffee.
Our waitress was very friendly, and made sure we had drink refills when needed.
My only criticism was the time it took to get the food. It took 25mins from ordering our breakfast before it arrived at the table. This didn't really matter to us as we were not in a hurry, and were sat in pleasant surroundings enjoying good conversation. But a couple nearby left before theirs arrived. Whiteley has only been open for about a week, so it is expected to be busier at the moment.
But the pancakes were worth the wait! It always seems strange to have syrup on bacon and eggs, but somehow it works. The bacon was cooked perfectly - just slightly crispy. And the eggs were only slightly runny. The pancakes were light and fluffy ( not overly hot, but I guess pancakes cool down quite quickly).

Our total bill came to £19.50.
I thought it was good value, and they have lots on offer throughout the day with a great specials menu which offers 2 courses for £10.95, I will certainly be bringing the family here soon.

Thanks Joanne for being our guest blogger, it was a pleasure to have you join us for breakfast, glad you enjoyed it.  We certainly did.

As usual Jan and I like to walk off some of our brekkie calories and this week we walked along the Titchfield canal.  Once again it was very eventful mainly due to Jake.  We were about half way through the walk when we realised Jake was missing and I am just going to let the pictures tell the story.
