East Cholderton Farm, Dogs Trust, Holiday Inn and The Clock Tower

Lots of outings but no time to write blog over last 2 weeks!.

Not good enough says Mitzi :(

Busy time of year, so apologies for delay. Went for a morning out Salisbury way, via The Dogs Trust in Amesbury.

Seem to be older dogs waiting for homes here, often in pairs. So sad, as want to take them all home, and just wonder what they have been through to end up there.

On the way home we went for a late brekkie at the East Cholderton Farm Shop.

 

Yummy egg and sausage sandwich on fresh bread, with a latte - very good value.

 

The pies looked yummy too, but at £3.99 each a bit too pricey.

We had to do a quick brekkie the following week. so went to the local Holiday Inn in Titchfield. Actually a lovely choice of breakfast in a buffet format. Cereal/crossiants/ fruit selection/cooked, and a pancake maker! As expected - we both had a cooked breakfast, plus with self-freshly made pancakes - which were nice.

Followed by fruit. However - not the cheapest - £11 each and that was after Jan's 30% off for belonging to their gym. But a recommended breakfast.

With our dog walking friends Chris and Barbara - we went round to Barbara's for a festive meal that evening which was very jolly.

This Saturday we went to Warsash, and found the previous regular haunt 'Valentinos' is now a café called The ClockTower (no real web link yet as only set up 11 weeks ago).

 

This was a beautifully presented breakfast, piping hot with lovely coffee, and good value.

 

And the cakes on display were to die for.

 

Though we resisted. And you can take dogs inside the café which is a bonus!

Few walks out together recently. Weather staying relatively mild, but still fairly muddy though the odd frosty day.

Bah Humbug from the dude!

The Village Bakery & Tearoom, Warsash

This week we decided to stay local and try the Village Bakery at Warsash which has recently been taken over. It is always good to support local businesses and we were well pleased.

This week we had a guest with us, my Grandson Jack, who although he didn't want a brekkie enjoyed a very 'healthy' can of coke and chocolate cake. Allowed to do that when you are with Grandma.

They had a good selection on their menu and very reasonably priced.

Not sure if you will think that what Jan and I had was any less wicked than what Jack had but ooh they were delicious.

Scrummy, lovely crispy waffles with bananas, honey and cream. All in all it only cost around £13 for the three of us including coffee.  Would really recommend a visit.

It is very difficult doing this blog with the cat sitting on my keyboard.

Tried to get a few walks in this week but everywhere is so muddy. Few pictures here from Warsash Common which wasn't too bad, although Jessie needed a shower when I got back. As she is so low to the ground she just drags her tummy through the mud.

Jessie went round 'Auntie Jan's' for an evening last week and she really makes herself at home.

Cosy Cafe Eastleigh

We had various reasons to head over to Eastleigh at the weekend, so popped into the Swan Centre, and opportunistically found the Cosy Café just round the corner from the car park.

Initially thought it was a bit of a large greasy spoon, but turned out to be really quick and friendly service, and very good value.

We both had the smaller cooked breakfast (as fancied fried bread),

but their all day pancake menu looked yummy.

For next time!.......

Went for a wander around the small but compact shopping centre (we both like it there) then went off on chores.

Took Peggy and Jessie for a very nice walk along Chilling beachfront.

The boss/2nd boss/3rd boss. And Jan last...! How rude!

When the sun came out it was glorious, intercepted by the odd rain shower.

Jess enjoyed herself chasing the geese.

Polly had a quiet afternoon snoozing on the sofa.

Which she seems to manage to get up on quite easily when she is by herself!
