Pebbles Cafe Stokes Bay

Gorgeous (though a bit too hot) weather this week, so a long planned visit to Pebbles Café situated on Stokes Bay.The Pebbles Wine Bar is the same building, but the website does not mention the breakfast/café menu.
The Pebbles Café (with the Wine Bar on the far side)
Bit confusing as no website link.

Polly, sadly as always on a Saturday,

Awwww.....left alone.....
stayed at home as a bit too hot for her and her wobbly legs, and she always has hydrotherapy in the afternoons.
Happy swimming though!

Good value
and nice breakfast sitting outside in the sun. Yummy fried bread - though a bit greasy so we both struggled with 2 slices.
yum yum
The dogs had enough shade (we were there about 0915), and water is provided for them.

Ever hopeful...

Big nose Peg

Walked along Stokes Bay after brekkie (the beach outside the café is shut off for dog-walkers in the summer, but  short walk down to the dog friendly part).

Jessie hunting for fishermen's sandwiches!

Peggy had a deep paddle (and never learns not to drink out of the sea!)

- and Jessie, Aunty Margaret and Aunty Jan got their feet wet with a shallow paddle.

Tempting to go for a swim! Walked around the Gillicker end of the beach. Lovely walk - and a fair few dogs around for doggie socialising.

Sunday was a socialisation day for Polly, with Margaret and Jessie, and 'Uncle' Chris coming to see her as she doesn't get out so much nowadays.
Aww - all three miss Uncle Chris!! (and his doggie biscuits!)

Jessie loves Polly - full kissing session!!

And Polly loves Jessie....

And Polly loves Uncle Chris.....
Though a few beers later and the dogs found the humans very boring as they wouldn't play as too busy nattering!.
Boring...

Very very boring......

Really really boring.....

Yawn...

Only thing missing was our Jake!! Lovely afternoon...and weekend... See you next week! x

Delicieux Cafe

We had planned to go for an outdoor brekkie this week but believe it or not it was actually raining when we set out so change of plans. We went to Botley to Delicieux Cafe.

We both chose the Rustique Breakfast at £5.50 each which was the small version of full English and included toast and coffee.  Value for money was very good but was not one of our best. You can view the full menu here. I wasn't too keen on the sausage, unusual flavour and slightly undercooked. I actually prefer a traditional pork sausage. Bacon could have been crisper and the toast was only barely coloured.

Just my opinion but was nicely presented and reasonably priced.

After breakfast we collected Peggy from Jan's and Jessie from mine and drove down to Swanwick Shore  Road.  Plan was to walk along to Universal Marina and grab a coffee at the coffee shop and water for the dogs. But, when we got there the coffee shop has gone.  We walked across the Marina and discovered that there is a new restaurant recently opened called Bistro8. which we believe will be serving breakfasts.  Another one for us to try out at a later date.

We continued with our walk along the shore and came across a field with about 15 donkeys and 3 Llamas. All of them very friendly and several came running over to the fence.  Not a bit phased by the dogs even though Peggy was giving them a bit of lip.

We continued along the shore and went into Holly Hill for a bit of shade and so that the dogs could paddle and get a drink from the stream.

Really nice walk, 3.3 miles.  If you would like to try it just follow this link for the map.  Enjoy!!

Can't guarantee all the donkeys and llamas will still be there but hopefully so.

Polly wasn't able to come with us as a bit too far for her wobbly legs and on Saturday she goes for her hydrotherapy session at Richmond Canine Hydrotherapy Centre

I bet Polly was a lot cooler than we were, can I come in with you next time Polly?

That's all for this week, we'll think of something else to next time

Quiet week (but included Wagamamas!)

Unfortunately I had to work last Saturday morning, so had to forfeit brekkie last weekend. Poor Margaret and Jessie had to have a lonely brekkie at home.

Not the same as eating out! Jessie not impressed

Had a first trip to Wagamamas with my work colleagues. None of us were too sure of what the food was like (Japanese style). But it was very nice - and not as pricey as thought!

No 80 on the Wagamamas menu. Very nice

Managed a couple of walkies together. It has been constantly hot so poor Polly struggling a bit, so she tends to rest on alternate days.
