Stones Fareham, Ikea, Donneys Stubbington

Shiny Red New Year

From all of us at 'Out for Brekkie'

Today I am doing a bit of a catch up on our Brekkie jaunts. Like everyone we have been a bit busy over Christmas and New Year but this is a brief run down on where we have eaten.  On the Saturday before Christmas we went into Fareham for some last minute shopping and we went into Stones Cafe which is along West Street. We had a really nice meal in there, good choices, nicely presented and hot.

We did pop into Nero's at Whiteley for a posh coffee and a snack during the week. Very yummy! We found out too that dogs are welcome although we didn't have ours with us. Handy to know though.

New Years Day we went into Ikea in Southampton. Not a lot of places open on that day so traffic and parking very easy. Always assured of good value food in Ikea. We had their nine item breakfast and toast and coffee which only cost a little over £5 for the two of us. Of course with a family card the coffee is free. Very nice to get a little omelette instead of the usual fried egg.

Finally we went to Donny's in Stubbington.  We have been there before but I have to say this time we were a little disappointed. We neither of us fancied a cooked brekkie so decided to go there as we knew we could have other choices. We both chose the waffles with banana and cream with maple syrup.

It did look better than it tasted. It was stone cold on cold plates. We thought that the waffles would be a bit warm from being toasted but no. It was actually a bit boring to eat. The coffee was served in pretty but small cups. It cost around £15.50 for the two of us, which we would have thought ok if we had enjoyed it more. Can't win them all as they say.

Here's a few pictures from over the holiday period.
Did you bring the orange sauce?

This is as festive as we get!!!

What is this??

Bah Humbug!!

Peggy has dropped Jessie in favour of a horse.
She's a bit more exciting.

That is about it for now. We hope to find lots of new places to visit in 2015.

Also hope to find a new little dog. Jessie needs a friend and I miss having two doggies.  I loved Jake to bits but I have to move on now.

One of my favourite photos.

Happy New Year to you all
